The Bay Signal is an original interview series produced by the FogLine Visuals team in San Francisco. The show brings together founders, builders, and creative practitioners for conversations about their work, their companies, and the decisions behind them.
For our team, it is an ongoing production: preparing the recording setup, managing cameras, lighting and sound, and shaping conversations into full episodes and short-form content. The series now includes seven published conversations and four recorded guest profiles, with stories across AI, software, marketing and creative work.
Read the production stories behind our conversations with Vexo co-founder Haris Malik, Zèya founder Mehdi Taifi and Stagera founder Cruz Arnett.

Guest profileBehind the series
An ongoing production by the FogLine team
The series gives our team a continuing brief: make each conversation clear, comfortable to watch, and consistent as part of the same show. Recording, editing, full episodes and shorter excerpts all belong to that process. See how we approach The Bay Signal podcast production.
The published conversations show different ways to stage an interview, from a table setup to a relaxed pair of chairs. For a team planning its own podcast, the starting questions are practical: who is the conversation for, what needs room in the full episode, and which moments should stand on their own as clips?
Different guests, different production choices
Frank Sondors: a daytime SoMa studio setup supported an 88-minute conversation with three cameras and a broadcast microphone for each speaker. The edit includes 40 chapters.
Juliana Andreeva: handheld Shure microphones let a 55-minute studio conversation move into a live vocal performance on the same set, covered by three cameras.
Max Sapo: the team brought cameras, sound and lighting to a rented Montgomery Street space; the approximately 37-minute episode also became more than 25 vertical Shorts.
Our work with Humanic also includes filming its AI x Marketing Summit in San Francisco.
