We regularly work with YC founders in San Francisco, filming launch videos, product explainers and founder content. On The Bay Signal, we also get to spend time with those founders as people: hearing what interests them, how they think and what led them to build their companies.
FogLine Visuals produced The Bay Signal’s conversation with Haris Malik, co-founder and CEO of Vexo, a Y Combinator Fall 2026 company. Hosted by Francisk Hanchar, the published episode runs 40 minutes and 11 seconds and explores AI wearables, personal memory and the trust questions around an always-on assistant.
Giving a technical product room to be understood
Vexo is developing a wrist-worn AI assistant that combines conversational context with actions through connected applications. Malik’s conversation with Francisk covers the product, hardware prototyping, privacy and consent, and his path into YC.
Those subjects call for different kinds of questions. A product explanation establishes what someone would use the device for. A discussion of privacy addresses the relationship between a person and the technology they wear. The founder’s own story gives the audience a way to understand the decisions behind the company.
For technical interview production, keeping these threads clear is an editorial task. The host needs enough preparation to ask useful follow-ups while leaving room for the founder to explain an idea in their own words.
The production behind the conversation
The Bay Signal is an original series produced by FogLine Visuals in San Francisco. Our work brings together guest research, interview direction, cameras, lighting, sound and the edit.
For a company planning its own video podcast, those parts work together. The recorded conversation needs to feel natural, the voices need to remain clear, and the pictures need to support a sustained exchange between two people. The production gives the audience a consistent way into a complex subject.
A full episode and individual ideas to share
This conversation also shows how a founder interview can support several editorial uses. A team might share the full episode with someone who wants depth, then choose a focused excerpt around product design, privacy or the founder’s experience. Each excerpt should preserve enough context to represent the answer fairly.
