Producing Akuity’s Agentic Control Plane Launch Video With CEO Hong Wang

FogLine Visuals produced Akuity’s Agentic Control Plane launch video with CEO Hong Wang: creative planning, cinematography, product animation and editing for an enterprise software launch.

FogLine Visuals produced the launch video for Akuity’s Agentic Control Plane, with co-founder and CEO Hong Wang on camera. Working with Akuity’s go-to-market team, we brought together creative preparation, a location chosen for the brand, cinematography, sound, product animation and editing for the launch.

Akuity comes from the team behind Argo, one of the best-known projects in cloud-native software delivery. The video needed to reflect that technical credibility while making the new product clear to an audience of platform engineers and infrastructure leaders.

The founders behind Akuity

Akuity was founded by Argo co-creators Hong Wang, Jesse Suen and Alexander Matyushentsev. They were founding engineers at Applatix, which open-sourced Argo in 2017 before its acquisition by Intuit in 2018. The project went on to graduate from the Cloud Native Computing Foundation in 2022.

Before founding Akuity, Hong managed the Argo team at Intuit and worked on a control plane for hundreds of Kubernetes clusters. His distributed systems background also includes Springpath, Cisco and Yahoo, and he holds a master’s degree from Carnegie Mellon University.

Jesse, Akuity’s CTO, led architecture for Argo Workflows, CD and Rollouts at Intuit. Alexander, the company’s Chief Architect, led Argo CD development there. That history gives the team direct experience with the infrastructure its customers rely on.

A company built around enterprise software delivery

In May 2022, Akuity announced a $20 million Series A led by Lead Edge Capital, with participation from existing investor Decibel Partners. The company had previously raised a $4.5 million seed round.

Today, its platform brings together Argo CD, Kargo and agentic operations. The Agentic Control Plane launch introduced a governed way for AI agents to work with software delivery: identity, permissions, release controls and an audit trail stay part of the process.

For the launch film, that product context shaped both the message and the visual treatment. The audience needed to understand what Akuity was introducing and why its approach mattered.

Planning the production with Akuity’s team

Before filming, we worked with Akuity’s go-to-market team on references, the founder’s message and the tone of the launch. We agreed on a calm, confident visual approach that suited enterprise infrastructure.

Together, we chose a rented location that matched the company’s look. Our production work included shaping the light, framing Hong on camera and recording his delivery with clear sound. The setting supported the message and gave the film a consistent visual identity.

Connecting the founder and the product in the edit

The founder recording was one part of the production. We also worked with product visuals supplied by Akuity’s team and built animations around the product’s appearance and the ideas being explained.

The edit brought Hong’s delivery and those visuals together into a 56-second launch video. We worked through the team’s feedback and prepared the finished film for the September 14, 2026 launch.

The session also included corporate headshots and internal announcement recordings. Those were additional assets alongside the main launch production.

What the collaboration shows

A technical launch video needs a clear message, a credible person delivering it and visuals that help explain the product. For Akuity, our role connected those parts: planning with the client team, choosing the location, filming the founder, creating product animation and completing the edit.

We are proud to have worked with a team whose open-source projects are part of how modern software gets delivered. The finished video gives Akuity’s CEO a direct way to introduce the Agentic Control Plane, with the product shown alongside the story.
